Find Your Level
Read the following descriptions to find your level in your winter or summer activity. This information will help us form groups of a similar standard for your chosen course.
Ski & Snowboard
Level 1
You are a competent piste skier looking for new challenges off piste. Happy on black runs your skill level does not yet allow you to tackle lengthy descents on changing snow conditions. You are looking for a professional who will guide you to the most suitable off piste terrain and give you advice on technqiue.
Level 2
You are a regular off piste skier and want to tackle more remote and complex terrain. A fan of powder and speed you are seeking out unspoilt runs while still working on your technique & knowledge of snow conditions. You like the comfort of an expert guide and his years of local experience.
Level 3
You are an accomplished off piste/touring skier with solid technique. Your guide can take you anywhere in search of adrenalin and speed. You are seeking a level of autonomy where you will be able to responsibly and decisively lead your own group. You would like to learn more about Crevasse Rescue and transceiver use.
Ski & Snowboard instruction courses
Level 1
You have done minimum 4 weeks skiing/boarding/tele before and you can now turn parallel comfortably down any red run. you like going quick, but you reach your technical limits when conditions are not perfect: you struggle on bumps, icy slopes and powder and would like to perfect your technique there.
Level 2
You have done minimum 8 weeks skiing/boarding/tele or more and you can now turn parallel down any black run. You have been skiing on-piste regulary but would like to discover accessible off piste slopes, make your first turns in bumps fields and work on your body positionning and technique in all terrain conditions.
Level 3
You are an accomplished skier who has skied more than 16 weeks. You can ski all places from black runs to off piste and enjoy all round skiing especially in the fresh powder. You are a perfectionniste and constantly looking forward to improve your technique for new challenges. you want to learn more about off piste glacier skiing, steep slopes and ride deep powder conditions. Ice Climbing
Level 1
You have little or no ice climbing experience and would like to learn basic techniques & climb your first routes. Your guide will share his experience and enable you to progress towards more difficult climbs.
Level 2
You have some previous experience on mixed routes and would like to undertake some harder climbs. Your guide will show you how to improve your technique whilst tackling some of the spectacular routes in Chamonix and Val de Cogne, Italy.
Summer Mountaineering
Level 1
You have little or no mountaineering experience and would like to learn basic climbing techniques. You will learn rope techniques, glacier travel and how to use crampons & ice axe during your first climbs.
Level 2
You have some previous experience and are motivated to improve your technique and try some harder climbs. Your guide will help you reach the next level with work on techniques, and undertake climbs in some of the most beautiful mountains in the Alps.
Level 3
A competent alpinist, you have already completed several snow/ice climbs and rock climbs to HVS standard. Your crampon technique is good and you have a good level of fitness. You would like to become more autonomous and attempt a route on prehaps the Matterhorn, Eiger or Aiguille Verte.
